You Tube seems to be the only site affected. However i was able to download Wednesday with no problem. DH works normally, I select a download option, it starts and finishes quickly with a 0 mb result. I tried changing the download location, the name and/or extension of the file, and still the same thing.

This is an issue with the Video Download Helper extension. This is copied from https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/video-downloadhelper/

September 14th 2012 YouTube issue

We are aware of the problem that occurred on Sept 14th (13th if you are in the US).

This is due to some changes YouTube just made. We are working hard at solving the issue. Please, give us a little bit of time and refrain from downrating the addon.

UPDATE: we now have a temporary workaround. It is available from http://www.downloadhelper.net/install-beta.php?version=4.9.10b2

Thank you! I searched Google and could find nothing! As long as it's not a problem with my computer and they're aware of it, that's cool! (You'd think, though, that there would be some warning for new downloaders, though. I'd had a decent experience with it in the past, so I was willing to stick with them. Had that been my first time testing the add-on, I'd have deleted it.

I tried the Beta version and it only has one available format for video--FLV.

The drop down with other formats is no longer available. It also takes forever to download even a small video clip. The download stops for a time and starts, you get a little bit of the file and it repeats. Iam guessing this is a you tube issue as well to throttle downloading.

Hope it gets resolved soon.

The issue is not resolved as stated as an answer for this !!!

Download Helper has been fixed. New release 4.9.10 today ! It automatically notified me. One glitch though, there was no link from the notification page for the update. Had to do it thru Mozilla and search for it. But it does work now as good as before. Good work guys.

Thanks for the info that Video Download Helper 4.9.10 is released.

I had Video Download Helper v. 4.9.9 and I was able to update to v. 4.9.10 from the Firefox Add-ons -> Extensions panel by clicking on the "Gear" box (top right) and selecting "Check for updates". Firefox then found the available update and I was able to install it directly from the Add-ons Manager.
