I use yahoo as my homepage. Now Bing is my homepage. I keep changing it back to Yahoo and it keep changing itself back to Bing. How do I stop it doing this? I have deleted Bing in my program list, but that did not help.

The Reset Firefox feature can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your essential information. Note: This will cause you to lose any Extensions, Open websites, and some Preferences.

To Reset Firefox do the following:

  1. Go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Information.
  2. Click the "Reset Firefox" button.
  3. Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is done, it will show a window with the information that is imported. Click Finish.
  4. Firefox will open with all factory defaults applied.

Further information can be found in the Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings article.

Try to use the SearchReset extension to reset some preferences to the default values.

Note that the SearchReset extension only runs once and then uninstalls automatically, so it won't show on the "Firefox > Add-ons" page (about:addons).

If you do not keep changes after a restart then see:

It is fixed! Sorry I didn't post until now. After I posted my question I was still searching on the internet. I did a few things I found and that took care of my issues. (or seems to have for now.) First, I deleted bing from my programs and then I followed this: Go to the site you want to set as your homepage. Go to Tools | Options | General Make sure it says "Show My Homepage" in the first dropdown menu. Click the button called "Use Current Pages" to set the homepage to the one you have on the screen.

I had yahoo as my current screen so now it is now back as my homepage! The first time I did it, I had several screens open, so it made all of the screens my homepage. Meaning all the tabs opened up when I went to my homepage! I corrected that my only having one tab open when I hit use current pages, so close all tabs except the page you want as your homepage. Thanks for all the replies to this thread!
