Following your directions to set a shortcut on my desktop, I can only get a small picture of the Firefox logo no matter what site I attempt to mark. The name of the website or program is supposed to appear just like the shortcut to Firefox or Google Chrome. Also, the symbol on every website page (next to the arrow) is a lock symbol. How can this be remedied?

Is this about creating a shortcut to a web page on the desktop?

You can create a new Boolean pref on the about:config page with this name:

  • browser.shell.shortcutFavicons

  • Bug 827784 - Provide an option to disable favicons on webpage shortcuts in Windows
