I like the look of splash-screens, but can't seem to find any add-ons or other ways to add one to Firefox.

I tried using using Splash the Firefox add-on, but it is too out-dated.

I'm using that Splash extension in my 2.0.0.20 version, it takes so long for that "Splash" dialog to appear that my Firefox 4.0 versions would already have opened completely. IMO, that extension isn't needed any longer.

I guess you dont want to use a system wide screensaver, but I'm not sure of anyway of getting any screensavers for firefox. In terms of system wide most screensavers are malware nowadays.
