I have gone to about:config and clicking on browser.newtabpage.enabled and clicked on it and then right clicked and rest, then gone to browser.newtab.url and clicked on it and then right clicked but reset is not active so can't click on it. How do I get the most visited tab?

If you want that Most Visited tab back, take a look at https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/Restore%20the%20default%20Smart%20Bookmarks%20Folders. That'll restore it.
