You also have other malware causing crashes so do scans with multiple and fully updated tools. In future try to get reviews of software AND download sites before blindly downloading software.

For instance you have sprotector a recently blocked addon, ( * at least blocked for Windows 8 Firefox) .

Please post back saying what you tried and how you get on.

I would not suggest you try any manual hacks or edits of the Windows registry. (Once rogue files are removed any residual registry entry will not normally do any harm.)

Sometimes a problem with Firefox may be a result of malware installed on your computer, that you may not be aware of.

You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:

You need to use multiple and up-to-date tools as they will not all pick up the same things.

Microsoft Security Essentials is a good FREE permanent antivirus for Windows 7/Vista/XP if you don't already have one.

Not necessarily the immediate source of your problem but you would be better off without your MindSpark Toolbar Platform Plugin. Look for removal advice in the Search box above or Google.

Glad to hear it is fixed. Thanks for posting back.

Some types of unwanted software do warn that they are being installed, but often in a confusing or easy to miss manner. Some malware may just install without warning.
