How to sync with Firefox sync after reinstalling Windows? I only have one device.

more options

I only have one device that syncs with my account xxxx.xxxxxxxx@rci.rogers.com. The IT department at my work upgraded my computer to Windows 7, and after reinstalling Firefox I realized that I can't get my bookmarks back since I can't connect to my account.

How can I sync again? I don't have a recovery key either.

Thanks in advance!

Luis.

Did your IT keep a backup of your old user profile folder? Your Firefox settings are stored in there. This article describes the relevant locations for XP and newer versions of Windows: Profiles - Where Firefox stores your bookmarks, passwords and other user data.

If you can get a copy of your old profile folder, then you can recover nearly everything.

If not, unfortunately, without a copy of the Recovery Key/Sync Key, I don't think there is any way to break in to your Sync account.
