Why does Firefox for Android crash when I try to play any media or plugin content?
I have had this device ASUS MEMO Pad for 6 months and Firefox for Android has never been able to play any media or plugin content without crashing. I have tried playing flash with the appropriate flash plugin installed and without and it crashes every time (it should not crash even without the plugin - it should handle it).
Even HTML5 video and mp3 audio will cause a crash every time (with tap to play enabled or disabled).

HI mt3ch,
Thank you for your patience. I have looked into the bug and it looks like there is not alot of information on the bug except the platform and when an mp3 is accessed.
If possible, could you copy and past the info on about:support page on the device that it is crashing from and share it in in the question or in the bug itself.
Also STR (steps to reproduce) with an example webpage where this is happening would be really really helpful. I will try in a vm as well.

The crash will happen with any media file or any page with embedded media (flash, audio, or video) when the media is played.
So you could pick any page with an embedded YouTube video. Any media on this page also when played:
http://www.quirksmode.org/html5/tests/video.html
I've tried both with the last release of flash for Android installed (as well as a couple of previous versions) and uninstalled. I've tried with a fresh install of Firefox with no add-ons.
It has happened consistently since I first got this device last November.
Actually I am surprised checking the link again only the H.264/MP4 video crashed the browser this time. The WebM and Ogg videos played. That was not the case before.
Whoa, so I tested the h.264 encoding for that page on Firefox for Android and it played perfectly. I wonder if its the device.
As for the crash, Kevin has fled a new bug for this, so we know they are looking into it: [Bug 1003936] More information added to this bug will help investigate this crash.

It could be the device, though I don't know where to take it from here if it is. I hope those investigating the bug will test it on the various devices.
Anyway, I will sign up to the bug report and offer to help.
I saw, based on http://html5test.com/#table-video that my device/browser was not able to play H.264/MP4 video.
It seemed to me then that the crash occurs with media the device or browser does not support rather than catching the error.
My device, though, can play all these media in Chrome and the ASUS web browser, so I am thinking it must be a separate issue to the device only but a combination of Firefox and the device.
Thank you for that, the bug attached to the crash looks like a dialogue is starting. The needs info on the bug allows you to send a notification to when you have added data to another request or not if they start to ask for troubleshooting info.
