Why does a bookmarked site open on the left side of the screen?

When I click on a bookmark to open a site using Firefox, the site opens on the left third of the screen instead of opening on the entire screen. This only occurs when I use Firefox. When I use Safari, the bookmarked site opens on the entire screen. How can I remedy this in Firefox?

Check the Properties of the bookmark to see whether the "Load this bookmark in the sidebar" box is checked. If the bookmark was created by the site (e.g., clicking a link or button in the site), this is a common problem because for security reasons, it is not possible for sites to create normal bookmarks.

To check a bookmark's properties, you can right-click it and choose Properties. Or you can highlight it in the Library dialog (Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks) and expand the pane on the lower right by clicking the More button.
