When I load Firefox it goes to my home page. I open either the bookmark list or the bar with the list of recently loaded links for pages and try to go to a different page but the browser is stuck on the home page. After typing in the page I want to go it goes to it and then works ok.

Do you mean that after that first attempt, you can then use the bookmarks? What are you using for a home page? What theme do you have?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window
