Firefox doesn't detect java
Hi
I am needing to test that a certain website is compatible with Firefox. A certain bit of functionality on this site requires ja certain version of java, which I have installed on my machine. This functionality works in IE and Chrome and also works in my personal machine using Firefox but for some reason does not work on my work machine, so I am suspecting it is to do with how firefox is installed on my work machine or security policies or something. Firefox does not detect my java version when I use the following url 'http://www.java.com/en/download/uninstallapplet.jsp'. For Chrome and IE the correct version of java is returned.
Do you have any idea of what could be causing this issue?
Thanks.
Tam.

Hi. Sorry I had the java plugin set to 'Never Activate' in the addons section. Set 'Java(TM) Platform SE 7 U51' in addons to 'Always Activate' and it works.
Thanks.

Hello tamnor, can you check if you have the same issue with the following url : http://www.java.com/en/download/installed.jsp
thank you
Sounds that the Java installer didn't create the registry keys that Firefox uses to detect the Java plugin.
Hi. Yes this link doesn't detect my Java version when I use Firefox but does for IE.
Thanks.

When I enter that url it redirects to 'http://www.java.com/en/download/uninstallapplet.jsp'.
Although that is the url that it redirects to on Chrome and IE but it display the java version.
