It might be a matter of insufficient system resources. Can you give me your system details? Click Start, right click Computer, click Properties (this opens Control Panel), then post the info under System in Control Panel here.

You can also try starting Firefox in Safe Mode. Safe Mode disables unnecessary add-ons and components of Firefox. If Firefox opens and operates normally in Safe Mode, that means that an add-on, plug-in, etc is causing the problem, and not Firefox itself. If that's the case, we'll sort it out from there. Here's how to start Firefox in Safe Mode.

You can check if you can start Firefox in Safe Mode by holding down the Shift/Options key.

You can try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.

  • Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"

You need to close and restart Firefox after toggling this setting.

Boot the computer in Windows Safe Mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test.
