I have Firefox 32 bit & Java 32 bit & Flash Player 32 bit but there are 64 bit versions. I am running win 8.1 with all the latest updates installed (except internet exlorer for which I ignore updates).

Chosen solution

You need 32-bit Plugins with 32-bit Firefox just as you would need 64-bit Plugins with 64-bit Firefox.

There are no Win64 Firefox for Release yet however the Win64 on Beta channel is finally being supported as of Firefox 38.0b# so this mean Firefox 38.0 may likely be earliest for Win64 Release.
