I like Firefox to remember the passwords for certain sites. I also use Dashlane but there are sites that Firefox only remembers right and vice versa. Every time I start Firefox I find the "Remember passwords for sites" box unchecked in the security options.

I thought it might be Dashlane doing it but I disabled the program and it made no difference

Note: Some software, like Advanced SystemCare with Surfing Protection, can protect files in the Firefox profile folder against changes. If you have such software then check the settings or uninstall this software.
