When I get an email and go to reply, sometimes I'm given the option of changing color, font size, font type, etc. and other times that entire line is not there for use. Why does that happen? I would like the option of ALWAYS changing font size and color of type when replying to someone.

Firefox doesn't do email. That would be a question for your web mail service or for support for the email program you are using.

Quick guess is that the option of changing color, font size, font type, etc. is for Rich Text or HTML email and Plain Text when those options aren't offered.
