7zip blocks Firefox install

Hi all. I'm logged into a Win 7 x64 Enterprise machine as an administrator and keep getting this error, with the title bar saying "7-Zip". I have 7zip installed on this machine but even uninstalling it didn't make any difference:

This program is blocked by group policy. For more information, contact your system administrator.

Thanks, @cor-el. What's weird is that I'm able to run 7zip with no issues; it works just fine. So not sure why the Firefox installation would complain about it.

I'll try booting into safe mode and let you know. Thanks again.

In order to download Firefox, you may need to signed into an administrator account on your system. Otherwise, you may not have permission to install Firefox.

You can find more information about group policies on the Microsoft website:

Firefox is offered as a self extracting 7-ZIP archive, so it is possible that for some reason 7-ZIP is blocked on the computer.

Boot the computer in Windows Safe mode with network support to see if that has effect in case security software is causing problems.

Booting in safe mode allowed me to install Firefox with no issues. Thanks again for your help, @cor-el! Still not sure why Windows was choking.
