how do I sync my att.mail folders to thunderbird?
I installed Thunderbird on my cpu with the goal of downloading and storing all of my saved messages from my Att.mail account (12valleau@att.net). The setup was super easy to get the new/inbox sync'd but I am having difficulty finding the function to get my created/personal folders to sync. The reason for this move is that I am terminating my account with ATT and when I do they delete my email account, which I've had for over 5 years. I tried to follow the support but there is no option to sync other folders under "server settings" -- see attached

There's no image attached to your post but the synchronisation settings aren't listed on the 'server settings' tab anyway. If they exist, you'll find them by right clicking on the account in the list of accounts in the left hand pane: a pop-up menu appears with 'subscribe' as one of the options, and that lets you choose the folders to subscribe to. However are you sure that synchronising personal folders is possible with this account? You can only do it if the account uses the IMAP protocol and when I checked on the web just now it appeared that ATT don't offer that option? If not, then it's a POP account and the only folder you can synchronise is the Inbox. Like others in that situation before you, you'd have to a) copy the messages from a stored personal folder to the Inbox b) synchronise the Inbox to get them on to your machine c) move them from the Inbox to a new personal folder on your machine d) repeat the steps above, folder by folder, until they are all done. It can be a long, tedious job, but unless you can export the folders direct from the ATT account as files for storage (some ISPs allow you to do that) it's the only way I know.
