When I opened a new tab It used to load a jump page that had my basic history, and tiled thumbnails of sites that I had visited. Since the latest Update when I open the first new tab, after restarting Firefox this page now loads, and then goes blank. This is apparently Cached, and now loads a completely blank page when manually open a new tab.

This happens every time I Restart Firefox.

I used that Page to visit my Frequented sites.

If you click in the address bar on the blank page and type or paste about:newtab and then press Enter to load it, does Firefox load the normal new tab page, a blank page, or a new tab page that blanks out?

A newtab page that blanks out.

Went into About:Config, under browser.newtab there was an entry "browser.newtab.blocked" that is denoted as user set, and has a large Alpha-numeric string .

Refreshing Firefox seems to fix this. if it happens again I'll resubmit.

Is this page entirely blank or is there a gear icon at the top-right of the page?

If there is a gear, click it and select Show your top sites from the drop-down that will appear.

If there is no gear, please let us know what the URL of the blank page is. This should be displayed in the Firefox address bar.

Just a blank page. No Gear, not even the outlines where the tiles should be.

There is no URL, just type type "Search or enter address" here.

This is the page you get when you hit the new tab button, which is supposed to be a history page with a bunch of thumbnails.

The page you are supposed to get when you press the "+" on the tab bar.

Which loads, then goes blank, and apparently cache's itself, so all you get is a completely blank page.

Does this issue continue to occur while running in Firefox Safe Mode? Safe Mode is a diagnostic mode that will temporarily disable your add-ons, hardware acceleration and revert some Firefox settings.

If the issue doesn't occur in Safe Mode, then it is likely caused by an add-on installed on your system. If this is the case, then you will need to us trial and error to determine which add-on is causing the issue.

If the issue still occurs in Safe Mode, please let us know.

Hi Itsune9tl, for future reference, the blocked list identifies the tiles on which you clicked the "X" button to hide the tile. Maybe that list got corrupted and ate the whole screen? It was a good idea to clear it and if you need to do it again, you can use right-click > Reset on the preference to set it back to empty.

Firefox's Refresh feature moves your old profile folder to the desktop inside an Old Firefox Data folder. I suggest keeping that for a week in case you notice anything essential missing from your cleaned-up Firefox.

Thankyou every body.

This has been a small success, as my Acer Tablet, got Lobotomised by a Windows 10 Up date overwriting the Virtual Memory Cache.

But That's not a Problem for here.
