Windows 10 does not have the easy transfer wizard. The Thunderbird 'Options' has Import Address Book but not Export. So how do I make the transfer?

Chosen solution

on your old mchine, Press the windows key + R type %appdata% and press enter drag the Thunderbird folder to a USB device, make sure it copies all the sub folders. We see windows 10 has a habit of only copying the visible folders.

one you new machine repeat the process, but drag the information you copied to the USB device to the appdata folder on your new machine replacing the exiting Thunderbird folder.

Done. This will replace everything on the new machine with what was on the old, mails, contacts, filters etc.

Oh and make sure Thunderbird is not running when you do this.

This method moves files etc., but not the address book! Bill Ure
