Since last few days, I am unable to play youtube (m.youtube.com) and other (cnbc) videos properly in FF. When I play Youtube videos in FF, 50% of the video viewing area is greyed out. The top part of the video is also greyed out. I can see 25% of the video in the middle area. The video is black and white and not in color. I don't know what changed within FF (extension/plugins) that I am unable to play videos properly. The audio seems to be ok.

I don't have this problem playing Youtube videos in Chrome or Samsung Galaxy S3's stock browser.

Anything with Adobe Flash or HTML5 that might have caused this?

Thank you.

This is a known issue with Firefox 53. We did not hear about this until after we released. The team is working on fixing the issue.

I saw the issue two days prior to May 1 update of FF to 53.0.1.

I have another device with Android 7. And YouTube video works fine. So the problem is impacting Android 4.4 and possibly other older Android versions

Firefox 53 was released on 2017-04-19. This issue has only been seen in some Android 4.2 - 4.4 Samsung Galaxy devices.

The issue is still there in 53.0.2. I hope this issue is fixed soon.
