Firefox will not let me change proxy settings. I don't use a proxy to connect to the internet (personal home wi-fi). Radio button is not active.I started having this issue a couple of days ago. I started getting the ribbon message "You must log in to this network before you can access the Internet".........Open Network Login Page.

Note: Some software, like Advanced SystemCare with Surfing Protection, can protect files in the Firefox profile folder against changes. If you have such software then check the settings or uninstall this software.

This is about a captive portal service.

You can disable this service by setting this pref to false on the about:config page if you do not need this service.

  • network.captive-portal-service.enabled = false

You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can accept the warning and click "I'll be careful" to continue.
