I installed Ubuntu 16.04 on my laptop and used Windows 10 before. After copying my old profile files from Windows into the new profile folder from Ubuntu, everything works fine except that I have no access to my passwords. What can I do?

Current Firefox releases use logins.json and key4.db for the passwords. Previous versions used key3.db for the encryption key, so you can try again and make sure to remove an existing key4.db if you only have logins.json and key3.db. Otherwise make sure to copy logins.json and key4.db.

You can use the button on the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page to go to the current Firefox profile folder or use the about:profiles page.

Thanks for the answer! I tried that already and it didn't work. I also checked on a windows computer whether the profile files are working there and I am able to access my passwords on Windows.
