I have Ubuntu 16.04 and would like to install Adapta dark theme, I'm not that familiar with Linux, so please bear with me. I tried to follow the instructions on this page Guide To Install Adapta GTK Theme on Ubuntu (https://omgfoss.com/install-adapta-gtk-theme-ubuntu/), but it did not work, I got the following output from terminal after running sudo apt update && sudo apt install adapta-gtk-theme:

Did I miss some steps? I already have Unity Tweak Tool installed.

Did you check with a Ubuntu forum to see if anyone on there did the same thing?

WestEnd, if you ever used Linux then you may have a better understanding.

Ok so the theme is GTK3 and not GTK2 for starters.

After theme install you need to change what Theme to use to use it in the Unity Tweak Tool or Gnome Tweak Took or such.

If Firefox was running when you change the GTK3 theme to use you may need to restart Firefox for it to be fully themed.

Sorry, forgot to mention that I'd tried before adding FF addons, but did not work, that's why I'm trying to use Adapta. Which FF dark theme addon woks under Ubuntu? I've tried several and none of them worked, I've asked in Ubuntu, and they said it's FF related and I should ask it here.

Thanks James for your reply, the trouble is I couldn't install the theme, the last statement said that the theme package was not found. I found Adapta site and asked the question there too, but it's not very active, so no sure how long will take to get a reply. It seems the package was removed for some reason and so far I only found an alternative answer to install from source, and I'm not that familiar with Linux to trying to compile from source.

I managed to install the theme, but FF seems to ignore the font & background color, how can I solve this problem? This seems FF specific and not Ubuntu problem, right?

Sorry, my bad, it's not theme that I need to solve my problem, it's an addon to switch on/off day/night mode. It's solved, can the moderator please delete this question?
