Thunderbird on 2011 MAC, two email accounts, Trend Micro updated today, one account will not connect to to pop.cox.net, error message "missing domain name".
2011 Macbook Pro, OS version 10.13.6. Thunderbird version 60.4.0. Two email accounts, one still works correctly. The other is refused connection to pop.cox.net email server. Error message is "Sending of password for user dcamp781 did not succeed. Mail server pop.cox.net responded: no domain specified or invalid domain specified." Both accounts can send email through smtp.cox.net. Everything worked OK until today. At about 9AM today, Trend Micro updated, and problem started. No version number listed on Trend Micro windows. Started MAC in safe mode, same problem. I see other problems with Trend Micro reported, is this the first of this specific problem?
Chosen solution
Today, 1-25-2019, both my email accounts are working properly. I made no changes to Trend Micro, or Thunderbird. I am beginning to suspect a configuration problem at cox.net, which they found and fixed while I wasn't looking. You may close this question. Thank you.

if you disable trend micro do you still have issues?
What do trend micro support have to say about their update nobbling Thunderbird?
Booted in safe mode, no improvement. Disabled trend micro, no improvement. Trend micro support insisted that their product did NOT modify or interfere with user's programs.
