I'm locked out of viewing saved passwords, and my Firefox login and password aren't giving me access
I'm using the latest version of Firefox (I have automatic updates enabled) on my Windows desktop. I am trying to view a saved password I created a while ago so I can use it in another application. I used to be able to view passwords via the "Logins and Passwords" option, followed by clicking on the eye symbol. Now when I try I am prompted to "verify my identity" with a login. My firefox account login and password (which I verified are correct) don't give me access.
My research suggests Firefox now uses Firefox Lockwise to secure passwords. I have not created a Firefox Lockwise account, so do not have an account name or password for it (if that's even necessary).
Another user posted a solution to a similar problem which he stated was a "temporary fix" that "may not work for future updates", and I am concerned. I would like to be able to view my saved password, now and in the future. How do I once again get access to my saved passwords?

If you aren't using a master password then Firefox will prompt you to enter the password you use to login to Windows when you boot the computer or the PIN for your Windows account.
