Web Site Data Does NOT Clear in Firefox iOS
Persistent cookies from web sites are not properly clearing in Firefox iOS. When I finish web browsing I always go to Settings-Data Management-Web Site Data-Clear All Web Site Data. I also Clear Private Data. Then, when I close the Firefox app on my iPad and open it up again, some Web Site Data is still present! This is very frustrating because there is no way of analyzing what is going on in iOS. Sometimes the process does seem to clear all the Web Site Data. But then in subsequent sessions some persistent cookies, from websites that I haven't visited again, suddenly reappear. This problem also occurs when Private Browsing too . This does not happen on Firefox on my Windows PC, probably because I have more control with a PC and use CCleaner after every session, which deletes Firefox Internet Cache, Internet History, Cookies etc. Can somebody from Mozilla please explain the 'hit and miss' functionality of clearing Web Site Data in Firefox iOS? It's driving me mad!! Currently using Version 28.0 (18809).

Do you have Sync turned on? Have you tried turning it off before clearing the data.
Just a guess.

Tried your suggestion but this makes no difference. The problem persists. In any case, I only sync bookmarks between devices, so surely this should have no effect whatsoever on a users ability to completely clear Web Site Data (Cookies) on Firefox iOS at the press of a button.
Doing a little research (emphasis on little), I learned that persistent cookies stay on a harddrive until the expiration date is reached or the user manually deletes them. The location of the saved file can vary. I did a search on where are persistent cookies stored and retrieved this article among others.

I stumbled across this add on while looking for something else.
