Hi there

I am having an issue with FF whereby it fails to connect to a site, progress wheel spins round and round. Eventually I have to quit. However, when I do it won't re-open as it says there's another version running. Nothning I can do will then quite whatever vesion my mac thinks is running - force quit doesn't work on it and activity monitor doesn't show any FF version running. Eventually I have to shut down and restart but can only do this by pulling the plug as finder > shut down won't work as it believes FF is still running!

I'm running FF 88.0 on OS 10.15.7

The biggest diagnostic problem is that this doesn't happen all the time, maybe once or twice a week and not always when i'm on the same site.

I would really appreciate any ideas.

Thanks Martin

If there is still a problem, Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} by holding down the <Shift> (Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox.

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Did this help?

While you are in safe mode;

Try disabling graphics hardware acceleration in Firefox. Since this feature was added to Firefox it has gradually improved but there are still a few glitches.
