I set a primary password but I found I can just press cancel button and then go to my gmail and open it without any prompt to enter password first.

If my PC is stolen then any one can press cancel and open my email and other loged in sites

The primary password is only used to unlock the logins stored in the Password Manager (about:logins). It doesn't prevent access to websites, so if you have saved a cookie for a website to remember you then nothing prevents access. You would have to logout before you close down the computer or do not keep such cookies. You should also use a password to login to your Windows user account and create a guest account if others use your device for more safety.
