How can I get the Firefox upgrade to download into my apps folder and the auto-update option to run? I have it set to auto-update, but that operation is not functioning.

I have Mac OS X 10.4.11 with Firefox 2.0.0.1 (marked to auto download updates, but that is not functioning). How can I get the manually downloaded upgrade to work.

This happened

Not sure how often

Today, when I went to a site that advised me of a newer version of Firefox being available (which I was not able to get to function)

User Agent

Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10_4_11; en) AppleWebKit/531.22.7 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0.5 Safari/531.22.7

If you aren't using the auto-update function, than you need to download the disk image, then replace the old app with the new one. (All your info and setting will be kept)

But the real question is why isn't auto-update functioning? :-) Can you use Help > Check for Updates?
