Recently I have tried to follow links from sites and instead of displaying the new page I get a blank page.

The tab for the page shows s (GIF Image 1x1 pixels)

Why is this happening and is there anything I can do?

Some firewalls like Kaspersky can block content and send a 1x1 GIF image instead.
Kaspersky": "Protection > Firewall > Filtration system: disable the "Banner Ad Blocker"

Mine is Kaspersky Internet Security v.9.0.0 Obviously it has been updated since the article was written, and the procedures are not the same.

As I said mine is Kasperksy IS v.9.0.0 2010 edition. Cannot see any link to Filtration Sytem there. Can you, Cor-el or someone else help?
