I am trying to use the Divx plugin to watch streaming video on Firefox 3.6.13 The newest version of the divx player does not work at all, so I install an earlier divx plugin. This works fine for one time, but as soon as I close Firefox, when I restart firefox the divx plugin is missing. I have to reinstall the plugin every time, even though I did not uninstall it before.

Possibly related to your issue, it looks like you're using a very old version of Firefox. You should upgrade to the latest version, 9.0 -- just go to the Help menu and click Check for Updates. This link walks you through the process: https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Updating%20Firefox?s=updating+firefox&r=0&as=s#w_how-do-i-manually-check-for-updates

See if that solves the problem.
