How do I control how where tabs are opened?

Is there a way to control how new tabs are opened in Firefox? Currently, when I click on either the "New Tab" button or the "+" button, new tabs are opened to the far right of all my tabs. I'd like all new tabs to open to the right of my current tab, like how links open up in my current tab if I right click and select "Open Link in New Tab".

I know there is a browser.tabs.insertRelatedAfterCurrent setting...but is there a browser.tabs.insertNewAfterCurrent setting?
