I want to remove the Skype icon which is to the right of my navigation and search engine toolbar. I right-click next to it and then bring up the Customise Toolbar Dialogue Box. I try to remove the icon by dragging it into the box with the little hand symbol, but the icon remains iunchangedwhen I close the dialogue box.

Right click a blank part of the Tab bar and choose Customize. Drag anything you don't want into the panel which appears.

Similary, you can add to the existing layout by dragging items out of there.

Also, while the panel remains visible, you can rearrange the layout to your own personal taste by dragging elements around.

The dragging didn't work - which was why I posted the query. But I got around it by removing and re-installing Skype. Thanks for your help, though.
