Is there a way to restore a session other than the previous session using files saved by Time Machine (in Mac OS X)?
I'd prefer not to have to restore my entire system. But I don't know the name of file that Firefox looks at when it attempts to restore the previous session.
I had a few dozen open windows for a number of months before browser problems caused Firefox to lose track of all the URLs; I'd like to open Firefox in such a way that it opens all those windows, so that I can jot down the URLs.
I routinely back up my system once a week.

You need the file sessionstore.js to restore a previous session.

Your important data and their files
Check and tell if its working.
That page talks about a file called places.sqlite that "contains all your Firefox bookmarks and the list of websites you have previously visited", but from the description I gather that it does not include session-information about which windows were open.
Accessing the Troubleshooting Information page
in your Profile folder see the file sessionstore.js
Check and tell if its working.
