I'm on a mac, running FF 3.6

I want to download the latest version. I go to the FF site, click download latest version for mac, and it downloads the file. The instructions say "drag FF to Applications folder then use it" basically.

However, when the download completes, there's an empty frame where the Firefox icon should be beside my Applications folder for me to drag it across.

What the ruddy monkey pudding is all that about? I just want to browse safely, but I can't use the downloaded latest version of my favourite browser.
