My homepage is set for "Google search engine" (or)"http://www.google.com/" . Whenever I first start Firefox, the page displayed is the "http://www.google.com/". Whenever I hit the "Open A New Tab" button that is a "+" (plus) sign, the page displayed is always the "Yahoo" search engine (or "search.yahoo./" (after the slash, there is a lot of numbers and letters)).

A new tab opens by default as a blank tab (about:blank).

If that isn't the case then an extension has changed that behavior.
