had to revert my desk top pc to factory defaults couldn`t back up data . havere downloaded fire fox on my desk top pc. i have a laptop pc that is fine has fire fox onit would like to get favorites from my lap top to load into my desk top both pc running windows vista home premium

Go to the Firefox button -> Bookmarks -> Show all bookmarks -> Import and Backup -> Backup then save the file to your desktop or where ever then copy that file to your other machine

Then on your other machine you will repeat the same steps instead of backup you will choose restore, and choose the copied file.

thank you for the help. just after i posted the question , i noticed about firefox sync and i gave that a try. sync work very well . again thanks for the help.
