How can MSN and Bing take over my computer and not allow me to change back the default fox web page.. Are they not in reality a virus?
When loading a free software download - MSN and Bing took over my computer at the same time I loaded the free software. I did a system restore and they can't be removed. When I go to the options setting on Foxfire to select the default web page they will not allow the default Mozilla web page to be set. ( It comes up as a shadowed light grey color - when I set default - with no real http: address showing up) I get the message about "they are trying to reset your web web do you want to block the change in your web page" - but it doesn't work. Bing and MSN are so desperate for business they have built a network of hackers who force people to accept they crappy products. Fox needs to write some software that will stop these vultures from taking over our home web page. I will now have to delete Fox Fire and reload and then reset all my add-on functions. It should be criminal when anyone including Microsoft forces a change in someone's computer that they didn't ask for. How do you remove MSN and Bing from your computer? Your current software is being over ridden and out smarted. Come on programmers this hole in your software is cheesy at best - what a lot of trouble for the little guy because of these perverted morons. I will never let anyone mess with my computer - it drives me to extremes to rid my computer of intruders. I hope that Bing and MSN will be destroyed by this corrupt practice. I sure they give a commission to the free software providers for sneaking their software into unsuspecting people's computers. They are still responsible.
Chosen solution
Firefox is the name. Foxfire is a bio-luminescent fungus.

A Bing search related addon could be in Firefox as something called default tab or Search bar, Search Toolbar, Search Helper, Default Manager or Bing.
Remove Search Helper and Bing Bar extensions
Uninstall Search Helper
Default Manager 2.2
Also, in past support threads, Bing has been installed through various non-Microsoft add-ons, including:
StartNow Toolbar (remove using Control Panel)
PDF Lite (remove under Extensions)
Vuze Toolbar (remove under Extensions)
BigSeekPro / Hypercam Toolbar (remove using Control Panel)
