Why am I seeing the notice that my version of Firefox is not up to date on my statrup page, while my "About Firefox" tells me that I am up to date?

When I first start Firefox, the Google start page loads correctly, but has a warning banner beneath the entry box telling me that I do not have the latest version of Firefox. When I attempt to upgrade I get the message that I have the latest version. When I check the "About Firefox" dropdown I also see that I have the latest version. How do I get rid of the incorrect warning message? Steve Caldwell
