i have two websites that try to redirect me to theirs when I try to surf web. How do I find them and stop this?b

When I try to go to TMZ.com my computer directed me to a blocked -website.com which was an advertising web page. It took me several hours to get this stopped. Now when I try to go to TMZ.com it says firefox blocked attempt to redirect to another web site. It gives me the option of allow or not. After I select do not allow the message goes away. The same thing happens when I try to go to GE Money Bank and will not let me log in. Is there a setting on firefox that I am missing. I would like to stop these attempts at redirecting. Any help would be appreciated.

  • Firefox/Firefox > Preferences > Advanced > General : Accessibility : [ ] "Warn me when web sites try to redirect or reload the page"

The setting in "Firefox > Preferences > Advanced > General" is meant as an accessibility feature, as you can see by the label of that section, so that people with disabilities or people who use screen readers do not get confused and is not meant as a safety protection to stop redirecting.
