When I try to add a bookmark the "page bookmarked" menu to rename it doesn't come up, it just automatically adds it, also when i installed adblock the menu didn't show up it was installed, even though it was, etc..

The "page bookmarked" menu sometimes shows up for a split second and disappears. The bookmark does get added, but I'm not able to edit the file name without manually going to all bookmarks.

Also when I installed adblock plus the menu saying it was successfully installed did the same thing.

I tried disabling all extensions and plugins, it didn't help.

Also tried completely uninstalling firefox

Chosen solution

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

Try to disable hardware acceleration.

  • Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"

If disabling hardware acceleration works then check if there is an update available for your graphics display driver.

Hi Crashn!

In order to get the menu you need to click the star twice. The first time to add it as a bookmark and the second time to edit it.

If you drag and drop the tab to the Bookmarks tab you still will need the second click.

Regarding the second question about AdBlock Plus...did it only happen with that Add-on? Add-ons don't show up the confirmation anymore as far as I know. I will like somebody to confirm this.

Hi there,

I was actually going to Firefox button > bookmarks > bookmark this page

Even when I click the star twice, it does show up for a split second but it still disappears.

Adblock plus does show it is successfully installed with a menu popup saying to reboot because when I uninstalled firefox and reinstalled, it showed up for a split second before disappearing.

It actually looks like the menus appear and then hide somehow, because it let me click the dropdown menu.

Heres a vides I posted to youtube to show what I mean, it's 21 seconds long, less than 1mb, thank you for looking

edit: the little menu asking if I want to save the login info to a site doesn't show up either.

Hi corel,

It was the hardware acceleration, thank you!

I'm using a NVIDIA GeForce GT 550m, unfortunately the drivers are already up to date.
