Hello, Ever since updating to Firefox 11.0 on 4/6/12 at 6:23PM I cannot open anything in Firfox and it crashes as soon as it starts. As best I can tell (I am not a computer "techie") it also happened in safe mode. Here is one of the most recent crash report numbers from today and one from april 6- in the Crash ID section. Here is the report of submitted crashes:

1333986279[Fri Apr 6 18:30:44 2012] Crash report submitted successfully [Fri Apr 6 18:31:35 2012] Crash report submitted successfully [Sun Apr 8 22:04:28 2012] Crash report submitted successfully [Mon Apr 9 08:45:15 2012] Crash report submitted successfully [Mon Apr 9 08:45:23 2012] Crash report submitted successfully [Mon Apr 9 08:45:31 2012] Crash report submitted successfully [Mon Apr 9 08:45:39 2012] Crash report submitted successfully

A note on updating firefox- what happened on friday is that it crashed and then when I restarted it it said I had updated to the new 11.0.

Can you post back with your crash IDs? Here are the instructions for finding them if you can't get Firefox to open:

  1. In the finder, click on the Go menu and select Go to folder...
  2. type in ~/Library/Application Support/Firefox/Crash Reports/submitted and click Go.
  3. In the resulting folder will be a text file for each crash report you have submitted. Using the View menu, arrange them by date to find out which is the newest file; and double-click on it to open it.
  4. Copy the text of that file and paste it in this thread.

Those numbers aren't enough (at least there aren't any reports associated with them). The crash IDs should start with "bp-". Here's what mine look like:

I see, is this the info you need?

Yes thanks. Unfortunately those didn't reveal any immediate causes - we'll have to keep investigating.

So the next troubleshooting step is to see if Firefox will start with a new profile. The Profile Manager - Create, remove or switch Firefox profiles article explains how to start the profile manager and create a new profile. Please try to start Firefox with a new profile and let me know it works.

Thanks

And if you haven't restared your computer at all, please try that first.
