Today when using Firefox 12.0 on a secure site, whilst trying to print a page, Firefox crashed without leaving a report because there was no ?dump facility? When I repeated the action, the same thing happened. The site worked fine with version 11.0. The operating system is W2000.

On a separate machine with XP and Firefox 11.0, the relevant page printed fine.

How do I update my W2000 machine to Firefox 11.0 please?

Thanks for your help.

All our systems at my university started to exhibit a cyclic crash on random sites. It happened usually after entering data to a site after about 3 minutes. At first our IT department thought it to be selective sites. But then it happened with secured sites that we upload our data to. In some occasions after Firefox 12.0 crashed and automatically try to resume with an error report, it would crash on the error report, and then crash on trying to report that error. The bug appears to only affect our systems with Windows 2000 SP5 and Windows XP SP3. Our systems with Windows 7 SP1 Enterprise are not affected.

Our IT ended up rolling back those systems that were some 1100 back to Firefox 11.0. However, some systems have been auto-updating back to 12 and crashing, so they have been replaced with Chrome. I personally always favored Firefox, however, with all these latest builds, ever since after version 3, it’s almost like Mozilla broke Firefox now.
