I am currently using the latest v13 of Firefox. But I have been having this same issue since installing v11 (before that I didn't have the problem).

Firefox ALWAYS crashes every time I try to open one or more windows containing the ebay window. Sometimes when I open a single ebay window, but ALWAYS when I attempt to open two or more ebay windows.

This has made Firefox almost unusable, since I often need to open multiple ebay sites.

It has already crashed 3 times when trying to look at ebay this morning! I have provided these 3 crash IDs below, but it has crashed many 10's of times in recent weeks - any time I look at ebay!

We're sorry to hear that your Firefox seems to be crashing. Please perform the following steps to give us a crash report ID that helps us find out more about the cause of the crash.

  1. Enter about:crashes in the Firefox location bar (that's where you enter your website names) and press Enter. You should now see a list of submitted crash reports.
  2. Copy the most recent 5 report IDs that you see in the crash report window and paste them into your forum response.

Thanks in advance for your help!

From what I can see by looking at the corresponding Bug (Bug 640904), this crash has been fixed on the Aurora and Beta branches, thus it should be fixed in the next major release.

You can try out the next Firefox 14 beta 8 release later this week that may include this bug fix (Bug 640904) or else beta 9 a week later.

See:

You can install multiple Firefox versions via a custom install in different installation folders and only use the older Firefox version when you really need it. Do a custom install and install each version in its own program folder to use multiple Firefox versions.

Make sure not to start Firefox after the installation has finished. Create a new profile exclusively for each Firefox version. Create a desktop shortcut with -P "profile" appended to the target to launch each Firefox version with its own profile.
