Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.

"Clear the Cache":

  • Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:

  • Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

Core-el, Excuse me for being so dense when it concerns computers. How or where do you go to click on "Start Firefox in Safe Mode" will that information be in the clear the cache and cookies menu? I do not know how to navigate Mozilla-Firefox very well but I can follow instructions if explained in easy terms. Thank you for your quick response, I really appreciate it.

It is present in the Help menu, both on the Menu bar and in the Help menu via the orange Firefox button.

  • Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
  • On Windows, hold down the Shift key while starting Firefox with a double-click on the Firefox desktop shortcut
