I updated java and ended up with snap.do as my search engine and home page. I researched it and found nothing good about it, a typical malware program that isn't picked up by CCleaner for some reason. It is easily uninstalled in chrome and IE but for some reason Firefox resists efforts to uninstall it. It doesn't show up in programs to uninstall, how can it be uninstalled along with all it's components and why does Firefox aid in its destructive methods by making its removal so difficult?

hello, please go to firefox > addons > extensions & remove any suspicious entries (toolbars, things that you have not installed intentionally, etc) and do a full scan of your system with the security software that you have in place and/or a different tool like the free version of malwarebytes.

Remove a toolbar that has taken over your Firefox search or home page Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware

afterwards install the searchreset addon to get rid of the changes those adware programs usually make in firefox (start page, search engines, new tab page, etc).

Hi, I have the same problem with that bloody SNAP.DO. I have tried all the sugestions and it still hangs in firefox. I have Google as my default search engine but SNAP.DO takes over every time I remove snap.do It's about time that Firefox get of arseole and find a fix for the problem or otherwise users will be going clear of Firefox and Mozilla. Snap.do got into firefox with Firefox updates.
