Since the update to FF 20, I haven't been able to create groups. Is this a FF20 issue, or something I can change in settings?

If I right-click, the option to move a tab to a new group is there, and the + button for adding new groups is in my header, but nothing happens when I click on them.

The Reset Firefox feature can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your essential information. Note: This will cause you to lose any Extensions, Open websites, and some Preferences.

To Reset Firefox do the following:

  1. Go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Information.
  2. Click the "Reset Firefox" button.
  3. Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is done, it will show a window with the information that is imported. Click Finish.
  4. Firefox will open with all factory defaults applied.

Further information can be found in the Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings article.

Thanks for your response. So I'd lose all my open tabs? Or would I be able to restore them using Restore Previous Session? I have over 50 open tabs now (hence my need for groups) so I'd hate to lose them!

Did you reset Firefox and created a new profile with doing that?

If you reset Firefox then a new profile is created and some of your data (bookmarks, passwords, cookies, form data) is automatically imported and your current profile will be moved to the desktop (Old Firefox Data).

You can recover more data from the old profile (be cautious with doing that).

App (pinned) tabs and Tab Groups (Panorama) are stored as part of the session data in the sessionstore.js file in the Firefox profile folder.
