When I click on a midi file link I am unable to play it, please what do I have to do to play these files?

When I click to play a particular file on the internet like midi files, a QuickTime window comes up but is unable to play them, if I download a midi file it will then open the windows media player to play it.

Other programs which *might* be able to play midi files include VLC media player.
