When I open Firefox I get a white page with a prompt that Firefox can't load because of an open tab.

This has happened for the last two days. It happens even when I turn off the computer and start it up again. I tried emptying history and it does not allow me to do that.

Please provide an exact error message so we can troubleshoot in a better manner.

It did it once when I opened up and now, after seeing your e-mail, I can't get the error message. Will make a screen shot if it happens again. Thank-you.

A possible cause is that you are first closing all Firefox windows and then close the Firefox application.

Some have reported that closing Firefox (Firefox > Quit) while the browser window is still open works for them.

Here is a screen shot. Thank-you

Yes, that is likely the issue that I posted above your last reply.

From what I gathered:

A workaround is closing firefox (through firefox > quit) while the browser window is still running or try this: enter about:config into the firefox location bar (confirm the info message in case it shows up) & search for the preference named browser.sessionstore.resume_from_crash. double-click it and change its value to false.

Note that you should be careful with disabling resuming after a crash.
You tend to forget that you make such changes and you lose the current session when Firefox would crash with this setting disabled (false).

I am doing that now and so far there have been no issues.
