Upgraded to FireFox 25 about 11/5/13 and immediately could not get certain information from a well trusted website I took for granted with FireFox 24. I use that feature A LOT (A LOT!) EVERY DAY. But now I CAN'T. The website used to display certain information automatically but seems to no longer do that. Resetting FireFox to factory default or whatever you call it does not fix the problem. How do I go back to FireFox 24 to see if that fixes the problem? The forum thing does not have the answer as far as I can tell. Your website doesn't even have it.

Chosen solution

Hi WarrenSmalley, to replace your current bookmarks+history database with the old one, you'll need to open both folders simultaneously, then exit Firefox, then copy over the older file (I suggest copying rather than moving so you can retain an uncorrupted copy).

To open your current profile folder, either:

  • use Help > Troubleshooting Information > "Show Folder" button
  • type or paste about:support in the address bar and press Enter > "Show Folder" button

You already know the location of your old profile folder (Desktop \ Old Firefox Data).

After exiting Firefox, allow a few moments for files to be updated before making the change.

Hi WarrenSmalley, the solution was philipp's idea, I just provided the documentation.

Please do try contacting the site, since the status no longer shows in any browser tested in this thread. They might be working on it already, but you never know.

Yes jscher2000, it was philipp's idea so give him some credit, but it was your description of how to get my current profile that clinched it. Before that I had no idea about it.

I will contact them about the missing data and somehow cope until they fix it. I do real estate research that depends on that kind of information and will have to get it some other way for a while.

I am also looking to go back to V24.

I have a similar issue with Firefox 26 not loading my AOL e-mail page properly anymore . Issue started about 2 months ago after an upgrade from an earlier version of Firefox. I use Firefox to access my AOL and Verizon accounts. Everything is fine with Verizon. However, when accessing AOL, all is good with all functions except my e-mail page. It displays a very tiny almost unreadable font size. I cannot locate anything that will make it display normally as it used to. I will admit that I may be missing something very simple to correct this, but whatever it is, I am not seeing it. The AOL e-mail page displays correctly when accessing it thru IE, so I am assuming that it is not an AOL issue. Anyone have any ideas, thoughts, or suggestions?

Hi ARNIER, the first thing that comes to mind is that you might have accidentally changed the zoom level on the page.

If you happen to be holding down the Ctrl key when you scroll the mouse wheel, the zoom level can change very abruptly in either direction — up (away from you) makes the page larger, while down (toward you) make the page smaller.

Try resetting the zoom level back to normal by pressing Ctrl+0 (that's a zero), or adjust it in increments using Ctrl+MouseWheel or Ctrl+ (hold Ctrl and tap the + key a few times).

Can you get it to a visible level again?

Well, ain't that a kick in the butt!

That was the problem - fixed it back to normal! I figured it was probably something stupid that I did and that the solution would be something simple.

Many thanks for that info! Yay....back in service..
